AMT Auto Trade Portal
Privacy policy
This policy explains how we use and protect personal and company information supplied through the trade portal.
Effective 29 July 2026
Who we are
AMT Global Investments Ltd is the data controller for the AMT Auto Trade Portal. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 05904790. Our registered address is 4 Bingley Street, Leeds LS3 1LX.
For privacy questions or requests, email marketing@amtauto.co.uk or call 0113 387 4240.
Information we collect
We collect account and contact details, dealership and company information, trade-account application details, directors’ names, VAT information, motor-trade insurance documents and proof of identity. When you use the portal, we also record offers, buy-now requests, completed or cancelled sales, buyer contact details, transaction values, vehicle details, enquiries, account activity, and an audit history of important actions. We also collect technical security information such as timestamps, IP addresses and service logs. We receive vehicle stock data from our stock-feed provider.
Why we use it
We use this information to assess and administer trade-account applications, provide and secure the portal, manage vehicle enquiries, offers and sales, communicate with you, prevent fraud and misuse, maintain transaction and audit records, and meet legal or regulatory obligations. We rely on steps requested before entering a contract, performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating a secure trade-sales service, and legal obligations, as applicable.
Who receives it
Access inside AMT is limited to people who need the information for their role. We use carefully selected service providers to host the portal and database, store documents, deliver emails, monitor security and, when enabled, measure site use. These currently include Supabase, Vercel, Resend and HubSpot. We may also disclose information to professional advisers, regulators, law enforcement or another party where the law requires or permits it. We do not sell personal information.
Storage, security and international transfers
Application documents are kept in private storage and are made available to authorised administrators through time-limited links. We use access controls, encryption in transit, activity logging, restricted administrator functions and database row-level security. Some suppliers may process information outside the UK; where that happens, we require an appropriate legal transfer mechanism and contractual safeguards.
How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above, including account administration, dispute handling, fraud prevention and legal, tax or regulatory record-keeping. Retention depends on the type of record and the outcome of an application or sale. Cancelling a sale does not immediately erase its transaction and audit history, because AMT may need that record for administration, dispute handling, fraud prevention or legal obligations. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it securely.
Cookies and similar technology
The portal uses essential authentication cookies to keep you signed in and protect your session. Where optional analytics is enabled, it may use additional cookies or similar technology. Essential cookies cannot be switched off because the secure portal would not work without them.
Your rights
Under UK data-protection law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your information, object to certain uses, and receive some information in a portable format. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. These rights can depend on the circumstances and legal exceptions.
Contact us using the details above to exercise a right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
